National Technology Enterprises Company (NTEC) has signed a cooperation agreement with Gulf Organization for Research & Development (GORD) in Qatar, which provides NTEC franchise rights to operate the first GORD Center of Excellence; Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) in Kuwait.
GSAS is the first performance-based system in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region developed to rate green buildings and infrastructures. Its objectives are to create a sustainable built environment that minimizes ecological impacts and reduces the consumption of resources while addressing the local needs and environmental conditions specific to the region.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Yousef Mohamed Al-Horr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GORD and Mr. Anas Meerza, Group CEO of NTEC and EnerTech management team.
Based on this agreement, NTEC receives (as the first Gulf franchisee of the GORD Center of Excellence) – many benefits, including spreading awareness of the green building culture through marketing GSAS, participating in the holding of Memorandum of Cooperation with governmental and non-governmental institutions, and providing technical support to entities interested in applying GSAS standards in Kuwait, in addition to providing specialized courses for professionals and engineers working in the field of environmental sustainability all of which work towards achieving the New Kuwait 2035 Vision.
